Aeration
Revitalize and nurture your lawn
Breathe new life into your lawn with Aeration
At Andy's Lawn & Snow , we believe in giving your lawn the best care possible. Along with monthly fertilizer/weed control applications; Aeration is one of the most beneficial treatments for your lawn's health and vibrancy. By controlling soil structure, creating growth pockets and opening airways for water and nutrients, Aeration will help your property thrive like never before.
Our expert team provides a comprehensive aeration process that unlocks the full potential of your lawn. This dynamic technique rejuvenates your lawn by reducing thatch build-up and alleviating soil compaction. Trust us, it's the #1 thing you can do to enhance your lawn's health and beauty.

The Aeration Process
Here's how it works:
Aeration: This service is typically done in the fall. We use specialized equipment to extract 2 to 3-inch plugs from the soil and the plugs will decompose within a week or 2 and leave the lawn looking like new again. This process allows seed and nutrients to be absorbed, promoting healthy growth over time.
Our minimum starting price for Aeration is $115.00 which is based upon up to 7000 sq ft of lawn. The actual cost is based upon the square footage of the lawn and the section that you want aerated.
6 Benefits of Plug Aeration in the Fall
1. Relieves soil compaction. Compacted soil can prevent air, water and fertilizer from reaching your lawn’s root system, causing dead spots, patches and/or thinning. By removing cores in the aeration process, soil density is decreased, thus relieving compaction.
2. Aids in thatch management. Thatch, the layer of dead grass that accumulates on your lawn can build up to a thick layer, robbing your grass of necessary rain and nutrients which can be detrimental to your lawn if left untreated. Core aeration helps manage that build-up by introducing thatch-decomposing microorganisms from the soil to the top of the thatch layer.
3. Increases nutrient availability. Aeration allows air, water and nutrients to penetrate the soil. When nutrients penetrate deeper into the root zone, they become available to the turf. This improves the effectiveness of fertilization and ongoing watering to promote healthy turf.
4. Aeration builds a thicker lawn. It helps improve water absorption and stimulate a deeper root system. Aeration stimulates root development and growth, but cool season grasses need overseeding to help fill in bare spots and thicken up the turf, which helps crowd out weeds come spring.
5. Reduced water runoff and puddling. If you find your yard has runoff or puddling problems after a rain, aeration could be the fix you need.
6. Prepares grass for winter dormancy and a green spring. Before your cool-season grass goes dormant, make sure it’s in tip-top shape by pairing fall aeration with fall fertilization. Aerating prior to fertilizing will help the nutrients soak in more effectively. Planning for aeration and fertilization in the fall gives cool season grasses enough of a buffer to protect the grass from summer drought stress and ideally enough time before the first winter frost arrives.
FAQs: We've Got You Covered
When can you mow the lawn after aeration?
You can mow right away after Aeration.
Why is lawn aeration recommended?
Due to the three-year drought our region has experienced, the soil has become excessively dry, lacking nutrients, and highly compacted.
What benefits can I expect from aeration?
Customers can anticipate improved soil structure, enhanced nutrient absorption, and healthier grass growth. Since it is done on the fall it prepares your lawn for the dormant winter and the grass grows healthy the next spring.,
